How much does a website cost?

Every project has unique requirements, so costs vary. The quickest way to get a quote is to complete the Web Project Worksheet. It’ll take you 3-5 minutes. The process will help you identify your own goals, and will provide us the details we need to work up a price.

How long does it take?

Each project is unique in its complexity, so timeframes vary, but a basic business site generally takes about 4 weeks from start to launch.

I’m out of my element here, can you guide me through this, and be cool about it?

For sure! Almost everyone has dealt with the stereotypical cranky IT guy. That’s not us though. We’ll happily guide you through this entire process, answer all your questions, and teach you a few things along the way. Transparency and trust are important.

Do I need my own domain name?

Yes. If you don’t already have a domain name, We’ll point you in the right direction and make sure YOU own it. Beware of anyone offering to register a domain name on your behalf!

How much do domain names cost?

Unless you’re buying a premium domain name that some investor is squatting on, most “.com” domains are under $20. Other TLDs (top-level domains) like “.us” and “.biz” can be scooped up even cheaper. we’ve used GoDaddy since around 2001. Their prices are fair and their tech support is good.

Do I need web hosting?

Yes, you’ll need a web hosting provider by the time we launch your site. You won’t need one during development though. If you don’t have a web host, we’ll recommend the best one for your website. If you’re considering us for your project, please don’t pay for hosting before we chat. People commonly pay their domain registrar for hosting, but domain registrars are generally NOT the best web hosts, especially for WordPress. If you’re itching to get a web host right away, you can’t go wrong with SiteGround’s GrowBig plan.

What is a web host?

Simply put, a web host is a company with web servers—computers optimized for websites—connected to the internet. It’s where the database and files that comprise your website will live.

How much does web hosting cost?

Most websites are run on “shared” servers, which cost in the ballpark of $60 to $360 per year.

Are you a web host?

No, but I play one on TV. But seriously, no. We work with web hosts on our clients’ behalf.

What is WordPress?

WordPress is a massively popular blogging and content management system (CMS) that’s been around since 2003. It allows website owners to publish and edit their own content without having to learn to code.

Will my site work on smart phones and tablets and stuff?

Yes. You’ll have a mobile responsive WordPress site.

What is SEO, and do you do it?

SEO is “Search Engine Optimization,” and the strategies and tactics employed for helping your website rank higher in search engine results, primarily Google, of course. We can help to an extent, but the most important thing is for your website to have good content relevant to your particular business, and to post new content regularly; essentially showing that you’re an “authority” in your industry and/or location.

Can you write the content for my website?

If you’re not providing your own copy (words), we can refer you to a copywriter who specializes in writing web content with SEO in mind.

Can you design my logo?

Definitely! We do all types of graphic design and would love to help design and build your brand for success.

How much do you charge for a logo?

A lot of time and thought goes into logo design. The process includes discovery, brainstorming, conceptual sketches, creating vectors and computer drafts, rounds of iterations, optimizing for screen and print reproduction, tweaking for scalability, and creating alternates for b&w situations and reversed (dark/light) backgrounds. A basic business logo starts at $1500. Add business card and stationery design for $500.

Do you do other types of design work, like business cards, poster, shirts and stuff?

Absolutely. We design anything your business needs: logos, business cards, stationery, brochures, booklets, postcards, invitations, menus, book covers, flyers, banners, door hangers, trade show displays, product packaging, slide decks, sell sheets, newsletters, catalogs, t-shirts, hats, and more. If it gets seen on screen, or in print, we do it.

What happens after I launch my website?

Crack open a bottle of bubbly and celebrate your hard work. After that, you’ll want to tend your website like a garden. Monitor your traffic with Google Analytics. Track sales and/or signup conversions. Work on social media. Post new content regularly. Create ads for Facebook and Google AdWords. We can help with all that. Your website is an investment. Tend it and watch it grow.

Lastly, it’s important to remember that your website is built with software, just like your smart phone or computer, software that requires regular updates in order to stay operational and secure. Who better to care for your site than the company who built it? We offer comprehensive, affordable WordPress care plans that’ll keep your website updated, secure, and backed-up in case of emergencies.
